Welcome to the Family Christian Bookstore’s blog. From this page we will feature christian community events that are local to the store in Burlington, as well as in-store events. We are also planning on keeping a list of churches in the surrounding community down the right sidebar (grouped by city) with a link to the church’s web page. If your church is missing, please let us know by sending us an email at info@familychristian.ca.
Along the same lines, if you have a local event that you would like us to list on our calendar, please provide us with the information listed here when you email us regarding the event, and we will post the details here.
Click the “Calendar of Events” link at the very top right of this page to see the calendar in large format - it is much easier to see everything at a glance that way.

Title: Insight for Life Seminar: Depression: A Family Affair
Location: Burlington Central Library - Centennial Hall Meeting Room (2331 New Street)
Link out: Click here
Description: The Insight for Life Seminar series presented by Trinity Baptist Church is designed to give practical biblical advice for life\’s important issues.
The topic for the January seminar is Depression: A Family Affair. The speaker for this seminar will be Dr. Stephen Swallow.
Depression can be a devastating form of mental illness that wreaks havoc not only in the lives of those who suffer from it, but also in the lives of friends and family members. This seminar will be particularly helpful for anyone who has experienced the unique challenges of dealing with a friend or a loved one who suffers from depression. Drawing on scientific evidence, clinical insight and biblical wisdom, we will consider how family and friends can most helpfully offer care and concern for depressed loved ones while avoiding some common pitfalls.
